Obtaining A Marriage License
Documents Required:
- Both parties must present an acceptable form of ID (i.e. Driver’s License or Passport).
- Documents NOT required: birth certificate, social security card, divorce decree, previous marriage records.
Important Notes:
- Both parties must be 18 years or older.
- Both parties must be present at the time of issuance.
- You must be getting married in the state of Kentucky.
- Marriage licenses are valid for 30-days, including the date of issuance.
- If solemnization has not occurred within 30-days of issuance, the license is void and must be re-issued.
- The Scott County Clerk’s office does not have an officiant on-site to solemnize the marriage.
- We can provide you with a list of local officiants to contact.
Fees:
- $60
- Acceptable forms of payment include: cash, personal check, cashier’s check, money order, credit/debit card (card transactions incur a 2.75% vendor processing fee)
