Location:

  • Visit us at our Main Office or Branch Office

    Georgetown, KY 40324

Documents Required:

  • Completed Kentucky title signed by seller and notarized
  • Notarized bill of sale with the following information:
    • Names of buyer and seller
    • Date the vehicle was sold
    • VIN of the vehicle being sold

Important Notes:

  • Kentucky sellers should file an Affidavit of Incomplete Transfer (TC96-3) if the buyer does not complete the transfer within 15 days.
  • License plates stay with the seller.
  • Provide proof to our office on or before December 31 of the current year to avoid tax for the next year

Fees:

  • If ad valorem tax has not been paid for the current year, it must be paid within thirty (30) days.

Documents Required:

  • One of the following:
    • Vehicle title or registration from new state of residence
    • Rental agreement
    • Deed
    • Job Application
    • New Driver’s License
    • Utility Bill

Important Notes:

  • Property taxes are assessed as of January 1. If you move after that date, you will still be responsible for property taxes for the current year.
