Text Scam in Scott County
We have been notified of a text message scam currently circulating in our county. These messages may appear to be from a delivery service or local agency and often include a link requesting you to confirm personal information.
If you receive a message similar to the example shown:
- Do not click any links
- Do not reply to the message
- Delete the message immediately
These messages are fraudulent and are an attempt to collect money and/or personal information under false pretense.
If you are unsure whether a message is legitimate, contact the appropriate organization directly using the office phone number or website, NOT the contact information provided in the text.
REMEMBER, our office will never contact you via text message in order to collect vehicle related fees. Stay alert and help spread awareness to protect others in our community.
